To Our Customers In Canada:

To make it easier to do business with us, we've made arrangements to pay Duty and Brokerage fees for you for all orders shipped with UPS. UPS Standard orders will be shipped every Tuesday. Orders using other UPS services or US Postal Service (USPS) services will normally ship within 24 hours.

Please refer to the information below to best understand your choices.

We recommend choosing UPS Standard service for your order as this will usually be the most cost-effective choice. UPS Standard orders will be shipped every Tuesday.

$* Charged when your order is taken. For U.S. Postal Service shipments, we'll credit GST/PST back to your card the next business day. You will be responsible for GST/PST upon delivery.

Product Prices are listed on our web site and in our catalog. We accept orders at www.home-food-processing.com or call our Order Line at 716-824-6510. Prices are in U.S. dollars.
Shipping During checkout you will be asked to select the carrier and service you would like your order shipped with. We use actual shipping costs that are quoted live through the internet and are in U.S. dollars.
GST When you place your order, we'll collect 5% GST (eff. Jan08). For UPS orders, we'll pass this along to Revenue Canada. For US Postal Service orders, we'll remove this charge from your order as you will be responsible for it at delivery.
PST When you place your order, we'll collect the appropriate PST. For UPS orders we'll pass this along to Revenue Canada. For US Postal Service orders, we'll remove this charge from your order as you will be responsible for it when your order is delivered.
Duties Canada imposes import duties on some products based on where they were made and the materials they contain. If you choose a UPS shipping service, we'll pay Duty expenses due. If you choose a US Postal Service shipping method, you will be responsible for these fees (if any) when you receive your order.
Broker When product crosses an international border, agents for the government (Customs Canada in this case) and a representative for the importer (a Customs Broker) audit the shipment to make sure international laws are followed. The Customs Broker is a private business who must be paid for their services. When you choose a UPS shipping service, we will pay for brokerage services. If you choose a US Postal Service shipping method, brokerage service fees will be collected from you when your order is delivered.
Tracking All UPS packages are trackable from shipment to delivery. US Postal Service packages to Canada are not trackable. We can only tell you when your order was shipped.
Claims For UPS shipments, a claim for a missing package can be filed when it is a few days overdue. For US Postal Service shipments, a claim cannot be filed for a missing package until 60 days have passed.

Note: We have heard from a few customers that US Postal Service orders occasionally arrive without money due for duty, tax, and brokerage fees. Although a package may have missed proper processing in the past, it is much less likely that this will happen again in the future. All shipments into Canada from the US are subject to the same regulations regardless of which carrier is transporting them.
